I want to welcome you into this little glimpse of who we are at Keene Terrace Baptist Church. Within this website, and throughout all our publications, even on the LED signage along the roadway in front of our church, we announce Keene Terrace as being , “Friendly Folks, Beautiful Music, and A Real Love for Jesus” who are also “Devoted to Bible Study”
As such, I truly seek to keep those words at the forefront of our lives, our singing, and our times of study, as we gather together each week to live out our Real Love for Jesus during our time of gathering so that when we all go our separate ways throughout the week, our day to day lives will also be defined by our loving friendliness toward all others, the beautifully sweet song of our lives in the midst of the anger and upset that so often defines the fabric of the society surrounding us, and the peace-filled, non-defensive, uniquely contagious interaction with others that gives tangible evidence of a life that really loves Jesus, not just as Savior, but also as the Lord of our lives.
In these times of worldwide political, financial, health related, and spiritual turmoil, Jesus’ words from 2,000 years ago are as profoundly pertinent as ever as He addressed those gathered around Him then, and as His words address each of our lives today,
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you…
let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.”
Such untroubled, fearless peace in the midst of the storm, begins with reminding ourselves of Jesus’ most familiar words. Perhaps you remember,
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him, will not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Well, that offer still stands because our sins still separate from God today. Yet, because He really does want each of us to have a close, loving, and everlasting relationship with Him, God invites you to humbly pray and ask Jesus to be your Savior and Lord, and to ask God to forgive all your sins in the name of Jesus your Savior (because He is the only one who God chose to give His life on the cross as the payment for your sins), and then prayerfully thanking Him for the promise of His forgiveness, and for granting you everlasting life in Heaven with Him.
I hope that you will be led to join with us in worship and Bible Study in the days to come, and that will become an integral part of your Christian family.
